Information

“Where Memories Are Made” is a week-long film programme, including a seminar, organised by osloBIENNALEN FIRST EDITION 2019–2024 in collaboration with Kunstnernes Hus, taking place October 18–27, 2019. The film programme includes new productions and previous works by Jonas Dahlberg, Javier Izquierdo and Dora García.

Referencing a brain scan technique that visualises the physiological processes of memory, “Where Memories Are Made” explores the way film and the visual arts represent and re-invent memory by revisiting history, constructing docu-fictions or creating counter-narratives. It also investigates the role of the moving image in articulating models that address the politics of memory.
