How to work with art in public space in new ways?
Located in the historical centre of Oslo, the Myntgata 2 building was the Biennial’s headquarters (2019-2021), housing an Information Centre and offices, as well as some of the biennial’s public projects and programming.
osloBIENNALEN was co-localized with 60 studios in the Myntgata 2 building, which are rented out by the Oslo Municipality Cultural Agency for subsidized rent to artists based in Oslo.
A smaller number of studios was also reserved for the biennial's residency programme for Norwegian and international artists, as well as for in-house production and public outreach.
The establishment of Myntgata 2 reflected one of the biennial's main ambitions: to embrace and foster art in-the-making, in dialogue with Oslo's own art scene.
